I took this while descending into Nha Trang. I am not sure exactly what is going on in these ponds, although I am sure they are filled with salt water. Any ideas?
These are most likely "salt fields" ("Ruong Muoi" in Vietnamese.) What is hinting this is the top row where you can see what may be salt residue in the white area. Google "ruong muoi Nha Trang" to find some more info.
No idea - they are not rice fields just flooded are they?
ReplyDeleteI love the patterns! Like a patchwork quilt.

ReplyDeleteHow cool. Looks like a close up of green mosaic glass.
ReplyDeleteThe green color has me stumped
ReplyDeleteHow do you know they are filled with salt water if you were in a plane?
ReplyDeleteExactly Anon, they do not look full of salt water, but not rice either. Interesting...
ReplyDeleteI thought they were glass tiles till I read your commentary.
