Big Day Out with Jimmy Barnes
The Vietnam version of the Australian Big Day Out was held on Saturday, with none other than iconic Aussie rocker Jimmy Barnes headlining the show. Born in Scotland, raised in Adelaide and later on bourbon, Jimmy has the distinction of having the highest number of hit albums of any Australian artist, while also claiming fame as the godfather to a generation or two of bogans. Surprisingly, the night was fantastic

Barnesy in Vietnam hey? Did the crowd go off to Khe Sanh?
Were you dressed in a flanno, smoking winnie blues and trying to shag a girl called Shazza?
And where was Farnsey?
Tin lids would have been better
Tin lids would have been better
When I clicked on the "bogans" link I thought it would be the wiki entry for the Tin Lids
E - Yup, he played Khe Sanh and indeed, the crowd went off
Anon - 3 "no's" to your first three questions. Wish I knew a bird called Shazza though. To your 4th question - shouldn't Farnsey be in jail along with his manager?
Bruce - two of the Tin Lids were his back up singers on the night
I think you will find Barnsey doused himself in vodka every night on stage rather than bourbon
Did you lay down your guns and surrender?
never heard of him.
Did you love the little woman, someday to make your wife?
Radman, you are one lucky bastard
Cheap wine and a three-legged goat
Life's too short for burning bread
Jimmy Barnes Australian Anthem
I confess i've never heard about this rock star ....
Babzy, you are as lucky as Radman. To have not heard Barnsey is like a gift from the Gods. Do not look for him, I repeat, do not search and listen to him anywhere online. Otherwise you will leave your heart to the sappers round Khe Sanh
Obviously there is some humor in the commentary here that people who have no idea who the hell Barnsey is cannot laugh about. Some explanations please
