When I saw the thumbnail I thought it was a snake!heppy new year
Good heavens, this is astoundingly beautiful, Simon. A whole community bound together by the twists of old man river, for good or for ill. Which river my friend?
I thought the "Snake River" was in the Rockies of the USA . . . HaWhat a treat to shoot from that angle. Happy New Year!
good choice. Happy New Year.
Wow. The vista is awesome. Happy theme day!
This was one of my favorite shots from the past year among the daily photo blogs; I could look at this photo for hours! Great choice and Happy New Year!

Oh, yes! I remember this one, and I'm glad you chose it too. Your images of Saigon are like the patchwork below, showing us specific moments of your exotic world. Here's to a new year, and many more!
How incredible this photograph is. Well done. Wishing you and your family all the very best for 2009, Simon.
Very impressive aerial pic. The winding river reminds me the ribbons the floor dancers use. Happy 2009!
You must have been up pretty high to get this remarkable photograph. I am somewhat surprised at the color of the water. It looks like most rivers in the states, from the Ohio to the Mississippi -- muddy brown.
