Vinashin "Hoa Sen" in Cam Ranh bay

I do not know much about boats, but I do know that Vinashin is one of Vietnam's largest companies. I took this while coming into land at Cam Ranh airport, which services Nha Trang. Any ideas on what the boat is used for?

I think it's for wealthy rich merchants who travel around Asia in luxury doing rice trading. Am I close?

My guess would be for cargo shipping.

My guess would be some sort of service or supply vessel for cargo ships or oil rigs. I love the helipad.

Although Leif may be closer than he thinks

The ship is one of the Vienamese State owned Vinashine line. It's name the Hoa Sen. The Hoa Sen is one of Vietnams first multi-purpose transit vessels. The Hoa Sen sails from HCMC (Saigon) to Ha Long City with a quick stop over in the central coast. The goal for These new multi-purpose ships is to open up a new "highway" of long distance travel, not needing the expensive infrastructure such as highways or railways. The Hoa Sen can accommodate 1,000 passengers and close to 500 vehicles, so it's a great alternative to overland travel....not many bars or restaurants on busses you know....Vinashin plans to buld another 6 vessels in the near future for Vietnams NEW "sea Highway" and the prices are very affordable for all walks of life in Vietnam....you canchoose from seats on the top deck all the way to a deluxe cabin...
